Live Music: Artist Interviews
For Charleston native Skyler Waddell, fronting The Stono River Project isn’t just about making music—it’s about honouring the Lowcountry roots and tight-knit local scene that raised him. Today marks an exciting milestone with the release of the band’s new single, “I’m Yours and You’re Mine,” out now on Stone Point Records—the label founded by Mark Bryan. Ahead of his single release party at Awendaw Green’s Barn Jam tonight, Waddell sat down with Charleston Live Music’s Samantha Meier to talk about studio collaboration with Bryan, finding grounding in his own lyrics, and how local staples from the Charleston Pour House to Chico Feo continue to shape his sound.
