The Fellowship of Dance – Summerville Orchestra

Dance is one of humanity’s oldest forms of storytelling – a way to celebrate, imagine, and connect. This concert brings together music inspired by movement, literature, fantasy, and adventure, combining the elegance of Viennese ballrooms to the epic journeys of Middle-earth;  from mystical poetry to the halls of the Mountain King.

From the elegance of On the Beautiful Blue Danube by Johann Strauss II to the emotional intensity of DANCE by Anna Clyne, inspired by the poetry of Rumi, this program explores music filled with movement and imagination. The journey continues with music from The Lord of the Rings by Howard Shore before concluding with selections from Peer Gynt by Edvard Grieg, including the beloved “Morning Mood” and the thrilling “In the Hall of the Mountain King.”

This concert is sponsored by Lee and Nancy Zimmerman and is part of the Subscription Series which is sponsored by Edgeworth Capital Group.
